Back in 1999 I made a book of etchings with a sound track. I recorded the narration in one take and illustrated the book in one day. I had shown it to a few people and printed only four copies. Thanks to Sean Hernandez for animating the piece this fall. Now the voice of Veronika and the battle of the vagina-like creatures comes to life! Enjoy.
Mariano
This older manikin is in really great shape. These were used for dental practice and X-ray positioning when learning in dental school. Underneath the rubber shroud (which comes off via zipper in the back) is a metal manikin head. This also doubles as a practice manikin for procedures and orthodontic study. Shroud is stamped with year 1972 on the lower bottom back. These pieces are great pieces of medical design that make fascinating objects or great source material for artistic study. Stand not included comes with metal head ,shroud and dental practice teeth.

The Bone Chandelier (Black) was hand cast to 1/3 human scale. The piece was inspired by the Sedlec Ossuary when a friend of mine sent me a postcard when she was traveling to Prague. The chandelier is comprised of 450 hand cast and machined pieces of high impact industrial plastic that was dyed black. The inner structure is made of brass and the piece is a working light. The individual components are: humerus, femurs, skulls, spinal column, and pelvis. Piece is rather large measuring 50” x 50” with an adjustable drop. Piece was made by Chicago artist Mariano Chavez. Medical Foot Model
This foot was once used as a pharmaceutical display in the 1960’s. Base housed informational pamphlets and the foot model opens up to reveal bone structure (three piece). Piece looks great as a sculptural object—has a nice classic roman feel. Heel rests on a peg that over time has loosened from the foot, but can easily be stabilized if you wish. I decided to leave it as-is along with an old fissure on top of the base—looks good to me. Piece measures: 8” L x 8” H

Pamplemousse!
We love to drink La Croix at Agent Gallery and this is our favorite flavor! Natural pamplemousse (grapefruit), if you’re a fan of sparkling water, give this one a try! You’ll probably love it as much as we do.
Day 158
A Collection A Day, 2010
“This is a blog documenting a project that will span exactly one year, from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010. On each of those 365 days, I will photograph or draw (and occasionally paint) one collection. Most of the collections are real and exist in my home or studio; those I will photograph. Some are imagined; those I will draw or (occasionally) paint.” - Lisa Congdon
Some of these collections are very visually appealing.
More of her collections can be found here.
Bari Foods
If you’re looking for a great Italian sub in the Chicagoland area, look no further. Bari’s has been around for more than 30 years and they serve the freshest deli meats. They have a wonderful made-from-scratch sub selection and run a honest humble grocery store. Highly recommended are the: Italian, prosciutto, eggplant, and home made tuna subs. There probably isn’t a single sub on the menu that isn’t appetizing and they can custom make whatever you’d like. Aside from great fresh subs, it’s also incredibly affordable. Located on 1120 W. Grand, they also deliver to nearby neighborhoods.
Death Of The A-Team Van
We’ll miss the Agent Gallery A-Team van. It came to an end during a drive to New York, inevitably while driving through Pennsylvania this would end up happening. Here is an illustration of what happened the day to our beloved A-team van came to an end.
